Engineering students press on with bench project

Fast learning engineering students and apprentices are making up time to build benches for a local church.

The keen young engineers on the Level 2 Advanced Manufacturing Engineering course are on schedule to complete their current unit early in the new year.

In response they have decided to put what they have learned into practice, and are making three benches which will be donated to St. Clare’s Church in Newton Aycliffe.

Five students will work on the design and manufacture of each bench as part of a metal fabrication and welding project.
