Haydn, 22, has been praised by his employer and tutor for his efforts at South West Durham Training and during his apprenticeship with Newton Aycliffe steel fabricator Finley Structures.

Course co-ordinator, tutor and assessor Gary Bowers said: “Haydn came to SWDT five years ago as a full-time student. He was offered an apprenticeship at Finley Structures, always showing promise from a young age. He has matured into an exceptional tradesman.”

Phil Metcalfe, Production Manager at Finley Structures, added: “I’m proud to say that Haydn has been dedicated and hardworking throughout his apprenticeship. He consistently showed his commitment to learning and teamwork, making him a valuable and integral part of our team.”

Haydn, a former pupil at Sedgefield Community College, said: “I’ve learnt a lot during my apprenticeship and have felt supported throughout both at SWDT and Finley Structures. I am really pleased to have secured full-time employment here on successful completion of my apprenticeship.”
