Our Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installation is perfect for those looking to gain the skills and knowledge needed to establish a career as an electrician. Learners will get practical experience of the installation of wiring systems together with a knowledge of the relevant theories of electrical installation.

This qualification is delivered entirely at SWDT through a mix of practical workshop sessions and theory sessions. It is assessed through on-screen examinations, practical assessments and a theory assignment.

The Diploma covers the below mandatory topics:

· Health and safety

· Electrical installation theory and technology

· Electrical installation methods

· Procedures and requirements

· Electrical installation craft skills

· Electrical science and principals.

Learners will also have the opportunity to utilise the IET On-Site Guide, the industry standard guide to electrical regulations published by the Institution of Engineering and Technology.

Our course is perfect for those looking to progress onto an apprenticeship to continue to build their experience through industry recognised qualifications.

Entry Requirements

Minimum 4 GCSE’s at grades 3 - 2 (D - E) or equivalent, including a D in Maths and English, or a Level 1 qualification in a relevant subject area.

Course Cost

Course fee as set based on the age of the student at 31 August in the year they begin their study.

This course is fully funded for

  • All students aged 16, 17 and 18 
  • Learners, aged 19 to 23, without a full level 2 qualification

24+ students, will be required to pay course fees up to £3,300.
